Life Sentence For Texas Man Who Murdered Over A Parking Spot

HOUSTON (AP) — A Texas convicted felon with a history of violence must serve life in prison for a 2004 fatal shooting in a parking space dispute.
Allan Eugene was sentenced Thursday in Houston on a murder conviction in the death of Richard Sepulveda.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office says Sepulveda was attacked during an argument over a parking spot outside a Houston convenience store. Sepulveda was initially thought to have died in a traffic accident, then authorities determined he'd been shot.
Eugene was originally identified as a suspect but never charged. A sheriff's cold-case unit in 2013 reviewed the unsolved killing and determined physical evidence linked Eugene to the scene.
Investigators say Eugene in 2014, while imprisoned for aggravated assault and drug counts, was interviewed about the slaying and confessed.
