LB Carter Gets Chance With Cowboys
OXNARD, CA (AP) - Bruce Carter's rookie year with the Dallas Cowboys was more like a redshirt season.
That is what the Cowboys expected when they used their 2011 second-round draft pick on the linebacker coming off a knee injury. He played the last 10 games, primarily on special teams.
Carter says those games allowed him to get a chance to get used to the speed of the NFL.
Coach Jason Garrett says Carter showed flashes last season, had a big offseason and is now ready to compete for a starting job at inside linebacker. He is competing with Dan Connor to start opposite Sean Lee.
