Largest Retailer Prices At Two-Year High

Walmart's prices are its highest level in nearly two years. Analysts from J.P. Morgan Chase and Company found that a 31 item basket of goods from a Virginia Walmart was about $95. That's nearly a three-percent jump from August and five percent higher than the beginning of the year. Most of the price hikes come from produce and dairy. The world's largest retailer has scaled back discounts because it wasn't attracting more customers. The good news for a WalMart shopper is that their prices are still lower than other retailers that sell similar items like Kroger and Safeway.
