DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) -- Twelve schools are on caution lockdown in the Lake Highlands area as police investigate a possible third sexual assault in the Dallas neighborhood.

Dallas Police have confirmed that a woman was attacked by an intruder just before 7:00 a.m. this morning in the 8700 block of Aldwick Drive.

Last Friday, a sexual assault was reported in the 10000 block of Ferndale Road, less than a month after another sexual assault was reported nearby.

Tim Clark from Richardson ISD describes the lockdown as a precautionary measure meant to protect the students.

"All students are accounted for and all students are safe," said Clark. "Nothing has happened on an R.I.S.D campus or on R.I.S.D property. It's in situations like this when there is escalating police activity in the neighborhood - we think it's most prudent to just bring kids inside."

Clark emphasizes that no threats have been made against any of the district's schools, but the district will keep the schools in lockdown for the remainder of the day.

The following schools are included in the lockdown: Lake Highlands High School, Lake Highland Junior High, Wallace Elementary, Lake Highlands Elementary, Northlake Elementary, White Rock Elementary, Lake Highlands Freshman Center, Skyview Elementary, Thurgood Marshall Elementary, Moss Haven Elementary, Merriman Park Elementary, and Forest Meadow Junior High.

Initial reports on Tuesday morning to the school were that there had been another burglary and that police were looking for a suspect.
