Kidnapping Case Ends Safely In Parker County
DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) - A domestic kidnapping case that started Tuesday afternoon in Denton ended safely Wednesday morning in Parker County. The incident started when, according to police, a man took his wife by force at gunpoint and refused to let her go free.
The woman's daughter found the couple in a truck along Highway 380. She tried to pull her mother from the truck, but the husband locked the door and sped away. This prompted the daughter to call authorities. Police were able to reach the kidnapped woman on her cell phone and she confirmed that she was being held against her will.
The 41-year-old woman told police that her husband was taking her to New Mexico. The husband was later identified as 33-year-old Mike Crawford of Artesia, New Mexico. The woman's name was not released.
State troopers found Crawford's truck at a rest stop along Interstate-20, near the line between Parker County and Palo Pinto County. Officials from both counties arrived on the scene and were able to arrest the suspect without incident. The woman was unharmed.
