FLOWER MOUND (CBSDFW.COM) – A penny for every kick.

The 9 Round Kickboxing gym in Flower Mound has taken a unique approach to help fundraise for a local non-profit called Cleaning For A Reason.

The organization cleans the homes of women undergoing cancer treatment free of charge.

Gym owner, Christy Williams said "We have front kicks, sidekicks, and round kicks, and squat kicks...you name it we are kicking it."

Williams said they are donating one cent for every kick counted to Cleaning For A Reason. Last year they counted 120,000 kicks for a total of $1,200. This year they are hoping to break that record.

Stacey Schwinghammer is a cancer fighter currently battling ovarian cancer for the 3rd time since 2010. She said "I think this is amazing. I can't believe the people that come out, and support Cleaning For A Reason."

According to Schwinghammer the work done by CFR to clean homes of women fighting cancer is not only a kind gesture, but it provides much needed support. She added, "It makes you stronger. Having the hope and support."
