Kenny Rogers Elected To Rangers Baseball Hall Of Fame
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - The Texas Rangers announced today that former pitcher Kenny Rogers has been elected as the 14th member of the Texas Rangers Baseball Hall Of Fame.
Rogers was 219-156 in 762 major league games over his 20-year career that included pitching for the Rangers, NY Yankees (96-97), Oakland A's (98-99), NY Mets (99), Minnesota Twins (2003) and Detroit Tigers (06-08). In the 12 years that he spent with the Texas Rangers, over three separate stints (1985-95, 2000-02, 2004-05), he logged the longest tenure of any pitcher in team history.
Rogers was also a four time selection as the Rangers Pitcher of the Year (94, 95, 2002, 2005), he was selected to three MLB All-Star teams (95, 2004, 2005) and won three Gold Gloves (2002, 04, 05) as a member of the Rangers.
Kenny will be inducted into the Rangers Hall of Fame during pre-game ceremonies on Saturday, August 6 before the Rangers game against the Cleveland Indians.
