Kaufman Reward Fund Grows With Pledge From Dallas DA
DALLAS (CBSDFW) - The Dallas County District Attorney's Office has pledged $30,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the murder of Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse. The reward fund now stands at $64,500.
Crimestoppers initially offered a $10,000 reward, but by 6 p.m. on Thursday, the reward fund had grown to $36,000 as local businesses contributed to the fund.
Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins told KRLD the money comes not from taxpayers, but from assets seized in criminal cases.
"He is in a fraternity of prosecutors, so from Dallas County's perspective, we're going to do everything we can to bring those individuals to justice," said Watkins.

Hasse was murdered on Thursday morning just before 9 a.m. in the parking lot of the department of motor vehicles, which is across the street from the Kaufman County Courthouse.
Authorities continue to search for suspects and are thoroughly reviewing Hasse's cases, looking for clues that might shed light on his murder.
