Julie Fisk Reviews "The Rum Diary"
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - "The Rum Diary" finds Johnny Depp once again doing his best Hunter S. Thompson impersonation. It's based on the book of the same name by Thompson, which was written in 1961 but not published til the late '90's.
A young and idealistic journalist moves to Puerto Rico to work at a newspaper, but gets caught up in the island lifestyle and LOTS of rum. Amber Heard, a native of Austin, co-stars as the gorgeous Chenault. She actually beat out Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley for the part!
