Judge Halts Worker's Comp Claim For Dallas Ebola Nurse Nina Pham

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — A state district judge on Monday halted a hospital operator's efforts to seek a worker's compensation claim for Ebola nurse Nina Pham.
In published reports, Pham's lawyers say Texas Health Resources' pursuit is meant to quash Pham's lawsuit against the company.
Pham contracted Ebola while treating the first U.S. patient diagnosed with Ebola, Thomas Eric Duncan, who succumbed to the disease on October 8, 2014. Pham is one of two nurses in Dallas who became infected with Ebola while treating Duncan.
Pham remains employed at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas but has not returned to work. She seeks unspecified damages in a lawsuit filed in March. She alleges the company failed to provide training and proper protective gear.
State District Judge Martin Hoffman issued a temporary restraining order after a brief hearing. No date has been set for a full hearing where witnesses will likely be called.
