Judge Finds Garland Cop Was Lying
Dallas County prosecutors and defense lawyers are still buzzing about a judge's ruling that puts the officer's career in question. Dennis Morrow was a narcotics officer in Garland when he was called to testify in the case of a long-time felon who was arrested last year. Despite the felon's long rap sheet, the judge decided he was telling the truth and that Morrow was lying in several key respects. That means the drug case was dismissed and Morrow was transferred out of the drug unit. Many at the Dallas County court house can't remember a similar ruling from a judge. Now, the detective's work is the focus of a review by Dallas County prosecutors who have already decided never to call Morrow to testify again because defense lawyers would really make hay out of the judge's finding, undermining his credibility and making him ineffective as a witness.
