Josh Hamilton Feels Good In Offseason Workouts

FORT WORTH (AP) – Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton says he's feeling good during offseason workouts following sports hernia surgery and expects to be right on schedule for the start of spring training next month.

Hamilton, who had surgery in November, was hurt throughout the postseason for the AL champion Rangers. He had a torn abdominal muscle and torn adductor muscles in his left leg.

During a stop with the Rangers winter caravan Monday night, Hamilton said everything feels good while running, swinging the bat and throwing. He's also been squatting weight and doing agility exercises.

Hamilton is going into the final year of his contract. The 2010 AL MVP says he'd like any talks with the Rangers about a new deal done before spring training starts.
