Jones Says Romo "Will Play In A Super Bowl," Would Not Specify Team

DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - With the 2016 Dallas Cowboys season coming to a close, team owner/General Manager Jerry Jones sees a great future for his team, with or without Tony Romo.
After recapping the tough playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers, the subject turned to what the future holds for the so-called highest-paid backup quarterback in the NFL.
When asked if his former starting quarterback would be on the Dallas Cowboys roster in 2017, Jones would not elaborate. "I don't have to get into that at all, and I'm not. There are several cards to be played" said Jones. "Don't think for one minute if you see something written or something said about what or where Romo is going to be relative to our team that there is any credibility to it. There is only one (person) that can make that decision, and there has been no decision made."
But make no mistake, whether Romo is wearing a Cowboys uniform or not next season, Jones still has complete confidence in his abilities.
"I really believe Tony Romo will be playing in a Super Bowl" Jones said. "I know that if he's healthy enough, standing, he will be in a Super Bowl. I strongly believe that."
Jones later added, "What you saw out there from Rodgers, Romo is capable of doing."
