Jones: Felix A Hard Worker, Ready To Go
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - On the heels of Felix Jones' breakout game against the Ravens, Jerry Jones thinks the real Felix is back.
"What I did say last week and have said the last couple of weeks is he's quicker at practice," Jerry said on his weekly show with 105.3 The Fan's Elf & Slater. "You can see some of the quickness that he needs to have his game at his best."

Though the injury to starter Demarco Murray provided the opportunity for Jones, Jerry attributes his impressive return to something entirely different - hard work.
"Felix Jones is one of the most conscientious, hardest workers that I've been around as a football player," Jerry said. "You've got to almost shoot him to get him off of the practice field."
This past offseason seems to suggest otherwise. In the final year of his contract, Felix reported to training camp out of shape, failing the team's opening conditioning test. He was limited to "remedial running" for the first few days of practice, leaving many wondering if the 2008 first-round pick might fail to make the roster.
"Now, he did come in, not the shape that he wanted to be, and I don't have an answer for that because that's not typical of where he is. But since that time, he's gotten quicker," said Jones. "Maybe he had a little extra pound or two that he shouldn't have had or wouldn't have had if he could do it over."
With Murray unavailable against Carolina, the Cowboys are thin and inexperienced at the running back position. So will Felix continue to return kickoffs for the Cowboys?
"We'll probably alter that, but I haven't talked to Joe [DeCamillis] and don't know exactly what they're going to do," said Jerry. "It's a little challenging to use your starters in the kicking game in general."
