Jones Expects Miles Austin Will Play Sunday
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - With injuries plaguing the Cowboys this year, GM/owner Jerry Jones tells 105.3 The Fan that WR Miles Austin may be finally returning to the Dallas offense this weekend against the Arizona Cardinals.
"I expect Miles to play on Sunday. We've certainly missed him." Jones also adds that Austin even told him that he thinks he's good to go against Arizona. But when asked about the other injuries, including the mysterious absence of Fiammetta, Jones said that he doesn't know anything else regarding the statuses of both Tony Fiammetta and John Kitna's injuries.

And what does Jerry think about the "coaching culture" of Jason Garrett? "I think Jason is evolving and he would. That's what you would have hoped that he'd do. I'd be the first to tell you that he's gained on and improved from last year. I think you can look forward to that for several years [with Garrett]. He's a coach that's into detail and is a very hard worker. I've never worried about him NOT thinking through all of the possibilities in a game." Jerry also notes that he's impressed with Garrett's multitasking abilities in his dual role as head coach and play caller. "I think he does a very good job at being able to handle it all."
And despite a slow start this year, Jones is optimistic about his team saying, "We've put ourselves in a position to compete. I really like the way the team is playing. Bottom line is, our team is playing well in critical areas and we've got improvement in sight. We can play better in the secondary and get less penalties. I feel good about the improvement potential."
