DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - With the Dallas Cowboys already holding a spot on the NFL Playoffs, there is no plan to 'take the foot off the gas' and rest the starters according to team Owner & General Manager Jerry Jones.
"It will be business as usual," said Jones on his weekly radio show with The Fan's Shan & RJ.
Even after clinching a playoff birth, Jones has no intentions on letting the Cowboys get rusty. Following up on his pledge to not rest the starting line-up that has led the Cowboys to a record-setting season, Jones says that he wouldn't even considering bringing Romo back in to play.
"I want to do what gives us the best chance to have Tony contribute to a championship" said Jones. "I do want Tony to go in case Dak has an issue. Not from a standpoint of protecting Dak, but having Tony ready."
Romo, who hasn't played since the preseason due to a back injury, will remain on the sidelines in a supporting role.
Jones also gave the latest Cowboys injury updates: Mo Claiborne is doubtful to return this weekend. LB Justin Durant is not. "We'll see how the week goes, but we're planning on Durant and Wilcox," said Jones.
