JetBlue Pilot To Undergo Psychiatric Evaluation
LUBBOCK (CBSDFW.COM) - A federal judge has ordered the JetBlue pilot accused of interfering with his own flight crew -- undergo psychiatric evaluation.
Last week, the New York to Las Vegas flight had to make an emergency landing in Amarillo last week after the pilot, 49 year old Clayton Osbon, allegedly lost it during the flight and had to be restrained by passengers.
The judge says he wants mental health experts to determine whether Osbon was sane at the time of the incident and whether he is competent to stand trial.
Federal prosecutors first requested the mental health evaluations this morning.
Osbon will have to appear in court Monday morning.
