Jerry Jones: Not Unrealistic That DeMarco Murray Will Play
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) -- Jerry Jones says it's not unrealistic that running back DeMarco Murray will play on Sunday against the Colts, less than a week after having surgery on a broken bone in his left hand.
The NFL's leading rusher had surgery on Monday to address a break of the fourth metacarpal suffered in Sunday's win over the Eagles.
"We just want to take a look at it. We don't know," said Jones with Shan & RJ on 105.3 The Fan. "I'm not so sure how much can heal between now and Sunday."

Jones says Murray will likely be a game-time decision, though the injury is in a place that can easily be protected. He says it's "conceivable", but not unrealistic that Murray will be ready.
"I don't think we'd have to see him practice. I think it's more a question of the condition of the hand at game time and what we can do to protect it. I think it's one of those that you'd like to wait and see how he's feeling just right before the game."

While Jones expressed uncertainty over whether DeMarco will play, he's confident in the team's depth at the position.
"We all know the type of player and the type of year Murray is having," said Jones. "On the other hand, I have thought that this is where we have arguably the best depth on the team...We've got some very good back up players here -- good insurance."
Jones says primary backup Joseph Randle "will make a good accounting of himself."
"He's got some special skills. I think he'll be good on his protection."
