Jerry Jones Doesn't Expect Big Changes To Coaching Staff
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) -- Jerry Jones reaffirmed his commitment to head coach Jason Garrett on Tuesday, but the status of Garrett's coordinators remains in limbo.
Jones was asked on 105.3 The Fan's New School on Tuesday if defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin and offensive coordinator Bill Callahan would return next season.
"Well I'm pleased that we have them. I know that when we got them, I've never heard so many people talk about 'well boy you have really upgraded, added a plus to the coaching staff'," said Jones.
"Now we had a rough year, but we didn't necessarily have a rough year because of coaching -- in terms of our defense. So all of that will be considered as we look at it. That's something I haven't really sat down and discussed it, looked at it. I don't know how much thought Jason has given to it in the latter part of the season. We'll be looking at that in the future. There's no hurry on that."

Pressed on whether any decisions had been made internally, Jones said the contract statuses of the coaches speak for themselves.
"I think you've got to assume that their contract status is the decision until we do differently. Those guys you just mentioned are still under contract. There are others under contract, and there are some that are not...Whatever it is, it is."
After an 8-8 finish to the 2012 season, Jones committed to making things "uncomfortable" at Valley Ranch and pledged to make big changes.
Jason Garrett 'handed' playcalling duties to Bill Callahan, and Kiffin was brought in to replace the fired Rob Ryan. Don't expect the same this offseason.
"We won't have the changes that we had last year in the coaching staff area."
With better talent on the field in 2014 and an "better" Jason Garrett, Jones believes the Cowboys can compete at a higher level.
"I think if we can compete with the kind of effort we made [against Philadelphia], then we'll have a chance to win a lot of ballgames next year."
