Jason Garrett's Top 5 Wins As Head Coach

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) -- Many fans and media members were calling for Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett to be fired following a third straight 8-8 campaign last season.

The cries have quieted -- at least for now.

Dallas is now in control of the NFC East at 10-4 following a 38-27 win over the Eagles in Philadelphia.

In light of that huge win, we examine the top 5 wins of Garrett's career as head coach.

2014: Cowboys Win In Philly, 38-27

If the Cowboys fail to make the playoffs, yes, the significance of this win will diminish. But you can't hide the fact that Dallas went on the road, in December, and defeated a 9-4 NFC East rival.

Dallas is now 7-0 on the road. No other team has less than two road losses.

They now have control of the NFC East.

2014: Winning IN Seattle

Very few teams go INTO Seattle and leave with a W. Dallas did in Week 6.

The win was Dallas' 5th straight, catapulting the team to a 5-1 start.

"This win is a coaching win. It's a Jason Garrett win," Jerry Jones said after the game. "This called on everything you could ever ask a coach to come together with a team. He answered the bell today."

The win could prove valuable if the Cowboys and Seahawks are battling for a Wild Card spot. If they fail to make the playoffs, it's still a nice win.

2010: Garrett's Debut

In his first game as interim head coach, Garrett guided the Jon Kitna-led Cowboys to a 33-20 win over the favored New York Giants -- at the Meadowlands.

Garrett received the game ball from owner Jerry Jones after helping Dallas snap a 5-game losing streak.

The Cowboys won five of their last eight games in 2010, prompting Garrett's promotion to full-time status.

2013: Welcoming Chip Kelly

In their first season under offensive guru Chip Kelly, the Eagles were averaging 28 points per game ahead of their Week 7 matchup with Dallas.

The Cowboys went on the road and stiffled the Philly offense, limiting Nick Foles & Matt Barkley to 209 yards passing and three interceptions. The Eagles scored 3 points.

Quite a welcome to the NFL from Jason Garrett.

2011: Romo Rallies Past 49ers In OT, 27-24

The win didn't appear to be quite as impressive when it happened, but this 49ers team finished the season with a 13-3 record and an appearance in the NFC Championship game.

Playing with a fractured rib, Tony Romo delivered a gutsy comeback, hitting Jesse Holley on a 77-yard completion to setup a game-winning field goal.
