DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Jason Garrett named Kellen Moore his starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.

Garrett made the announcement this morning on his weekly call in with Shan & RJ on 105.3 The Fan.

Cowboys COO Stephen Jones said on the GBAG Nation on Monday afternoon that Moore has great instincts for the game and there's a lot to like about him, but there are things he needs to improve on.  He also said that Moore won't influence what the Cowboys do in their search for a young quarterback this off-season, but he'll have a chance to compete for the number two job.

Moore replaced Matt Cassel in Saturday night's loss at home to the Jets after Cassel's poor play to start the game. While the Boise State product provided a spark for Dallas when he came into the game, he ultimately threw three interceptions, one of them in the Jets endzone, and one to end the game. Moore was playing in his first career game after being in the NFL for four seasons, the first three being in Detroit. He connected with Dez Bryant on a quick hit for a 10-yard touchdown in the second quarter for his first career touchdown pass.

We'll see if Moore can add to that total these final two weeks, assuming Garrett sticks with him for week 17 as well.
