IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - In a Valley Ranch meeting just before February 22, A powerful cowboys voice said the three magic words regarding controversial free agent Greg Hardy: "We are done."

Is that your plan about to be undone?

Hardy is a uniquely talented player, A $100-million pass-rusher if not for his history with domestic violence. That may be one lingering reason why Hardy remains on the free-agent shelf at this late stage, one week into the NFL shopping period.

But the reason for Dallas' decision to turn away from the controversial player is behavioral. We've termed it the "Uptown Flu," Hardy's away-from-the-field habits that made him a less-than-reliable employee -- let alone the "leader" that owner Jerry Jones visualizes Hardy as being.

Nevertheless, the Cowboys need pass-rush help and while the coaching staff and the personnel department continues to push in the direction of "We Are Done," Cowboys Nation is wise to stay on alert ... in case Mr. Jones ever decides to push back.
