Is A UFC Superfight Headed To Cowboys Stadium?

A long awaited super fight between UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre (22-2 MMA, 16-2 UFC) and UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva (28-5 MMA, 15-0 UFC) appears to be just one more fight away.

UFC President Dana White confirmed this to the MMA world Tuesday night on Fuel TV's UFC Tonight

"I think that we're pretty close. If Georges St.Pierre beats Condit, that could be the next fight." said White.

Carlos Condit is the current UFC Welterweight Champion and he will challenge St.Pierre to unify the two Welterweight belts at UFC 154 in Montreal.  St.Pierre is almost a 4:1 favorite over Condit and getting to fight in his homeland of Canada has to help St.Pierre as he returns the octagon after a 19 month layoff.

Take that for what it is.

According to the UFC President, if St.Pierre can defeat a fighter that he should be able to defeat we will get the biggest fight in MMA history.  To top that off, White then went on to tease all MMA fans in the North Texas area with the best update of all "If that fight happens, it will probably happen at Dallas' Texas Stadium."

Don't focus on the fact that Dana White doesn't know that Texas Stadium is now gone and Cowboys Stadium is the venue that he is talking about. The important thing here is that the UFC wants to put its biggest fight ever right here in North Texas in the greatest stadium on earth!

The fight will take place at 180lbs and neither fighter's title will be on the line.  This is a fight that I believe will determine the greatest fighter in the history of the UFC.  Anderson Silva is the best fighter of all time as of right now.  All of that may change sometime early in 2013 at our own Cowboys Stadium.
