Irving Police Kill Suspect In Shootout
IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - The suspect involved in an officer involved shooting Wednesday night with Irving police has died.
Police identified the man as Uriel Juarez, 44, and say he was shot multiple times by officers after he fired at them with an AK-47 rifle.
Police say responded to a domestic disturbance shortly before 8 p.m. in the 1300 block of E. Pioneer, where Juarez was armed with a rifle and threatened to kill a family member.
Juarez attempted to flee the home and officers followed him, until he reached a home in the 600 block of Balleywood, according to officers.
Police say Juarez got out of his car and began shooting at the two officers, who both returned fire using AR-15 rifles.
Neither officer was injured and they have been placed on administrative leave, pending a full investigation. Their identities are not being released.
