NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) — Dessie Hancock, the 83-year-old woman who police say was assaulted on Friday, has died.

Irving police said Hancock, who was on life support, died shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday at Parkland Hospital.

Three men were looking for an acquaintance at a home in Irving when the 83-year-old neighbor showed up to visit someone on Friday, police say. Jesse Perkins, 20, allegedly punched, kicked and stomped the woman and then ran from the scene with his brothers, 18-year-old Thomas Perkins and 19-year-old Edward Perkins, according to police. They were later arrested for aggravated assault with serious bodily injury.

Police say there is no apparent motive, but the investigation is ongoing.
