Irving Man Gets 20 Years For Possessing & Shipping Child Porn
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Hugo Magdaleno was sentenced Thursday to 20 years behind bars on counts of possessing, transporting and shipping child pornography.
In a press release, federal prosecutors say Magdaleno pleaded guilty in April and has been in custody since his arrest in Houston last March.
In court documents, Magdaleno admitted using file-sharing software to trade images of child pornography. Federal agents seized computer equipment from his Irving home in January 2008. 6,000 images and hundreds of videos of child pornography were discovered on the seized computers.
The U.S. Attorney's office says this case was part of Project Safe Childhood. The project organizes federal, state and local resources to apprehend and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
