Irving Man Arrested After Stand Off With Police

IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - An Irving man is in police custody after a stand off his home with a gun.

According to Irving police, a man called the police Sunday afternoon and said their neighbor had a gun and was trying to kick in his back door.

Once police arrived the suspect, Daniel Neil Gammill, had gone back to his house a couple of doors down in the 1200 block of English Street.

Police tried to talk to Gammill and get him to surrender, but he at first refused.

The area was shut down while police tried to persuade him to come out.

The standoff went on for a few hours before police finally went into Gammill's home and took him by force.

No one was hurt and police nor the suspect fired any shots.

According to Irving PD PIO James McLeland, Gammill had run-ins with police before.

Gammill is charged with a terroristic threat, a class B misdemeanor, with his bond set at $500.00.
