iPhone gets "thumbs down" from Consumer Reports
The iPhone 4, and it's antenna issues, are the focus of new independent lab tests.
The website, www.consumerreports.org, purchased three iPhone 4's from three different locations, and after several tests, have concluded that a physical antenna problem does exist.
The engineers from the testing believe all the problems surrounding the new phone is a hardware issue, not a software one as earlier reported. The study targets that small corner on the left hand side as the "gap" that, when covered, will lose signal strength.
Their cheap and easy fix? DUCT TAPE. (They are now testing cases and the Apple iPhone "bumpers" to see if those work just as well. Those cases and bumpers cost around $30)
After these lab tests, Consumer Reports have decided to NOT recommend the new iPhone, based on the antenna issue alone.
