Iowa Police Believe Plano Dr. Was Part Of Murder-Suicide
IOWA CITY, Iowa (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - A prosecutor says a 44-year-old North Texas doctor followed his ex-girlfriend to the home of her new boyfriend in a small Iowa town before killing her and committing suicide.
Buchanan County Attorney Shawn Harden said Friday that radiologist Timothy Roses, of Plano, had been in a relationship with 22-year-old Lindsay Nichols that ended in February. They met while she was studying radiography at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, where Roses worked.
Harden says Roses followed Nichols on Wednesday evening to the home of her new boyfriend in Jesup, east of Waterloo, Iowa. Harden says Roses jumped out with a gun and tried to get Nichols to get in his truck before shooting her and then himself.
Harden says Nichols' new boyfriend saw the argument from inside and called 911.
