Investigator Looking For Homeless Woman Taunted In Dallas Barber Shop
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – An amateur investigator with experience tracking down homeless residents is helping advocates find a woman who was humiliated and harassed at a Dallas barber shop.
That woman — known only as Susie or Christina — had her head and eyebrows shaved as she was taunted last week.
Video of the moment was posted on the internet.
Pierre Buchet, who has lived in Dallas just three months, is volunteering his time with the Soupmobile, a non-profit advocacy group taking up the search for the woman.
The former construction litigation consultant volunteered with homeless charities in Paris and said he developed a knack for finding homeless in the city who needed help.
"It's quite important to try to imagine what you would do if you were that homeless person," he said.
Monday, he rode in one of the Soupmobile vans, cruising past areas Susie has been known to frequent.
He and others have identified the intersection of Northwest Highway and Marsh Lane, the area where Northwest Highway meets Harry Hines, and the Salvation Army near Parkland Hospital as possible locations.
There was no sign of her Monday, though teams believe they have been close. Some may have only been an hour behind her at a local 7-11.
Bouchet is talking to other homeless, still trying to learn Susie's routine.
He spent 10 minutes sitting with a man named Mark outside a library Monday, learning Susie may have had a companion who is only in the area for three to four days at a time before disappearing for weeks.
The size of the search area is complicating the hunt.
Searches in a concentrated area like Paris, Buchet said, were often faster than this one which is covering several miles of roads.
"We have to be patient," he said.
