Investigation To Close Stretch Of I-35W For 1 Hour
BURLESON (CBSDFW.COM) – The northbound lanes of Interstate 35W from Alvarado to just north of FM 917 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday while investigators map the scene of a deadly accident.
This weekend, a car hit a woman who was walking along the median. A witness stopped to help and was hit by another vehicle.
Burleson PD spokeswoman Sally Ellertson says the department is still investigating.
"She stepped off the center median into northbound traffic and she was killed," she said. "Then a 55 year old man from Springtown who stopped to help her was also killed by a second driver."
Ellertson says that stretch is dangerous, as traffic moves at 70 miles-per-hour. Both drivers in the wreck stopped and will not face charges.
