Internet Scam Targets Online Car Buyers
The latest Internet scam targets people trying to buy a car online. The website you're looking at may look like a real car dealer in your area, but it's not. Jeanette Kopko with the Better Business Bureau in Dallas warns about scam artists offering cars for sale and asking you to wire them the down payment. She says the web sites look very convincing, imitating the actual car dealer's website. Kopko says they've had no reports of any victims in the DFW area and hopes this warning prevents any. If you're looking at cars online, call the local car dealer directly to verify things.
