Insurance Provider Bringing Hundreds Of Jobs To Texas
IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - Hundreds of new jobs are coming to Texas, and Gov. Rick Perry was in the D/FW Area to show his support Tuesday.
The North Texas company Connextions made the announcement this afternoon at its new Irving office.
Connextions President Steven Auerbach says the company will be hiring 800 people who are both insurance agents and non-insurance agents. He also said those without an insurance license will be trained for free.
The jobs pay between $30,000 and $40,000 a year with benefits, Auerbach said. The company will be hiring over the next 90 days.
Connextions is a service-based subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group.
"We have a proprietary technology platform as well seven solution centers with very passionate agents and licensed insurance agents that help consumers navigate every turn of the healthcare system," Auerbach said.
Essentially their agents help people choose the best healthcare plan for their personal needs.
UnitedHealth Group also announced 330 job openings in Houston at Optum's pharmacy benefit management business. Visit this site for more information.
In addition, 250 jobs in San Antonio and 115 in Harlingen are also being created by UnitedHealthcare, the group's health benefits business.
UnitedHealth Group officials says it currently employs nearly 11,000 people across Texas.
