NORTH TEXAS (CBS 11 NEWS) - Not much is left of a full-size pickup truck after a suspected armed robber driving a Lexus slammed into it at a high rate of speed.
Paramedics rushed three innocent bystanders in the truck to the hospital after police say the suspect fled from the scene and police officers pursued him.
Melito Perez says moments earlier he witnessed the armed robbery at a gas station on the 8000 block of Polk Street. "I thought they were going to shoot me. They told the guy you better not get up. Stay there. And then they started to take off. Before they took off they shot the window out of the Suburban."
Police aren't confirming the suspect fired three shots.
As authorities responded, they say they spotted the suspect's car and pursued him.
Shortly after, homeowner Tracy Littleton heard the commotion. "That's the first thing I do. I jump up and look out the window and I see the wreck. We're right on the corner and anybody can come straight through the home and that's why I get up and look."
Authorities say they found stolen goods in the suspect's car.
All police will say is that the three innocent victims and the suspect are in stable condition at local hospitals.
