DES MOINES, IA (CBS 11 NEWS) - The Ted Cruz presidential campaign wrapped up a very busy Sunday with a rally in Des Moines after 10:00 p.m.

On the eve of the Iowa caucus, Cruz talked to CBS 11 News reporter Jack Fink on his campaign bus.

The Texas senator said he's confident and isn't taking anything for granted. He had three campaign rallies on Sunday and he's not slowing down yet.

When the senator sat down with CBS 11 he said the first four states, including Iowa, are not must-wins. "We are 'all in' in Iowa. We are 'all in' in New Hampshire. We are 'all in' in South Carolina and we're 'all in' in Nevada," he said. "We've got a great team, an incredible team on the ground. I believe we will do well. I think we will do well in each of the first four states. We'll see how it plays out, but I think we will do well."

On Tuesday, Cruz will have visited all 99 counties in the Hawkeye state. He has rallies in Jefferson and Marion, Iowa.

As far as some belief that he won't be able to consolidate conservatives behind him, Cruz said, "I am tremendously encouraged by what we're seeing on the ground. Nationwide, we've got over 200,000 volunteers. Just in the state of Iowa we've got over 12,000 volunteers. Everyday we're making over 20,000 phone calls a day. Everyday we're knocking on over 2,000 doors a day. We've got over 800 Texans who've come up to Iowa, who are trudging through the ice and snow... Texans don't do well in ice and snow, but they're knocking on doors."

Like most other candidates, Donald Trump also criss-crossed Iowa Sunday. He held rallies in Council Bluffs and Sioux City.  If he's nervous, he's certainly not showing it.

"In the polls, #1 in security. #1 on ISIS. #1 on protection. #1 in almost every category. The only thing I wasn't #1 on was personality. Can you believe it? They said I'm not a nice person," said Trump at a rally.

The caucuses begin at 7:00 p.m. at nearly 1,700 precincts statewide.

Jack Fink will be there Tuesday night with results and reaction.
