FLORIDA (1080 KRLD) - Hurricane Matthew is making for a really rough time for a Fort Worth family vacationing in Florida right now.
Julie Hatch Fairley planned a Disney World vacation with her family six months ago.
That was well before Hurricane Matthew took aim at the Sunshine State. So instead of going to the Magic Kingdom or Epcot today, Fairley and her family are checking out the sounds and sights of their hotel room.
They were moved to that room from the campground-like Fort Wilderness, where they were originally staying. And it's a good thing she took up Disney's relocation offer -- Fort Wilderness was evacuated yesterday morning.
Hurricane Matthew keeps lashing out at north and central Florida without making landfall.
The Space Coast around the city of Melbourne and Cape Canaveral is widely considered the hardest hit area.
Orlando has seen extreme winds and lots of rain, which forced all of the tourist attractions to shut down today.
