Hunter Criticizes Halos For Hamilton Signing
ARLINGTON (CBS SPORTS) - Josh Hamilton, as you may have heard, is now with the Los Angeles Angels. Former Angels player Torii Hunter, as you may have heard, is now with the Detroit Tigers. But Hunter, it would seem, still has the Angels, for whom he toiled for five seasons, very much on his mind.
After the news of Hamilton's surprise five-year, $125 million pact broke, Hunter took to Twitter to deliver a broadside to Halos owner Arte Moreno. "I was told money was tight but I guess the Arte had money hidden under a Mattress. Business is business but don't lie," Hunter tweeted.
Hunter's deal with Detroit runs two years and pays him $26 million, so his reaction -- if indeed he was told the Angels weren't spending -- is understandable, if a bit credulous.
