Hundreds Of Homeless Lying In Luxury This Christmas Eve

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - They rode into the front entrance of the Dallas Omni Hotel in luxury coach buses and when they got out, hundreds of volunteers and a red carpeted awaited them.

Five-hundred homeless men, woman and children are spending Christmas at the hotel, thanks to the volunteers, corporate sponsors and David Timothy, founder of the Soup Mobile.

"We want them to know that Dallas cares" says Timothy.

Mayor Mike Rawlings will wear of tuxedo and serve lunch to the men and women participating.

They have been escorted to their hotel rooms and they were given backpacks with new clothing and gifts.

Tiffany Smith brought two of her four children with her. She is living at a homeless shelter.

"I'm a nurse and it's just been hard for me to find a job lately, so just fallen on hard time" she says.

Her son had a message for everyone watching. "All you people out there God bless you and Merry Christmas."
