Houston's Visit To Dallas 50.2% Above Season Average For Cowboys Tickets

Provided by TiqIQ

The Dallas Cowboys will be without Morris Claiborne for the remainder of the season, but the team's resurgence since its Week 1 loss to the 49ers in San Francisco has restored a notable amount of confidence in franchise quarterback Tony Romo, who threw for a season best three touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Saints at home last Sunday. The Cowboys owe much of their success in recent weeks to opposition from relatively weak teams, however, and recorded their first two wins of the season against the struggling Titans and Rams. The team's impressive play against the Saints has brought a sense of validation back to the franchise and certainly comes punctually, with the Cowboys schedule heating up as they set to play the Texans and Seahawks over the next two weeks.

While the Texans have mirrored the Cowboys' 3-1 record heading into Week 5, the much anticipated Governor's Cup this weekend will serve as the most expensive remaining home game at AT&T Stadium this season. According to TiqIQ, Cowboys vs. Texans tickets currently have an average price of $375.67 on the secondary market, trailing just the team's home opener against the 49ers on September 7 as the most expensive home game of the year, which had an average secondary price of $379.41. The get-in price for Sunday's game also starts at $149, easily the highest among all six home games left. The average is currently 50.2% above the season average for Cowboys tickets this season.

With a three and a half hour drive from Houston to Dallas, any Texans fans coming from Houston seem to be making this a day trip instead of spending the night. According to Priceline.com, plenty of hotels of all luxury are still available around AT&T Stadium. 143 three-star hotels still have available rooms ranging from $75 to $180. Four-star rooms range from $117 to $305 and three five-star hotels still have rooms ranging from $380 to $434.

Sunday's game marks the first time the Cowboys and Texans will play in the regular season since Week 3 of the 2010 season. That game saw the Cowboys win 27-13 at Reliant Stadium, which has since been renamed NRG Stadium. Since the Governor's Cup inception in 2002 with the creation of the Texans franchise, the teams are tied at 5-5 over 10 combined preseason and regular season games. Draws have been a constant between the Cowboys and Texans in regular season matchups as well, with the teams tying at two games apiece over four meetings.

The mold will be broken at AT&T Stadium this weekend when either the Cowboys or Texans take their fourth win of the season and third of the Governor's Cup in regular season games. The Lone Star State showdown won't come cheap, either, with secondary ticket prices continuing to rise as the game draws closer. Under the bright lights in Arlington and facing what will expectedly be a sellout crowd near 80,000 on Sunday, the teams will generate one of the most expensive games on the secondary market this year.
