DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - More than 120 Dallas Fire-Rescue firefighters battled a six-alarm fire at the Grand Hotel, a three-story budget hotel at 7815 LBJ Freeway Tuesday evening.

The 911 call about the fire came in just after 6:00 p.m.

Most tenants got out on their own, but Dallas Fire Rescue said two had to be rescued by aerial ladder from a third-floor unit.  One man in a wheelchair was pulled from a unit on the first floor.

He was taken to a hospital after being exposed to smoke, but is expected to be okay.

David Vasquez, who told CBS 11 News he moved to the hotel from San Antonio two weeks ago, said the fire started in his third floor unit.

Vasquez says a maintenance person was working on the air conditioning unit when the fire started.

Dallas Fire Rescue has not determined the exact cause of the fire and is still investigating.
