Hiker From Grapevine Found Dead In Colorado

CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo. (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities in Colorado confirmed Sunday a hiker from Grapevine that was reported missing Friday was found dead in Chaffee County.
Grapevine police reported 44-year-old Jeffrey Pickering as missing to the Chaffee County Sheriff's Office after he was expected back to work September 5. Police said Pickering was hiking in the Chaffee County area September 3.
Officials in Texas determined his approximate location using his last cell phone activity.
Chaffee County authorities said they found Pickering dead at around 8:00 p.m. Saturday night near Country Road 306.
Authorities have not commented on the cause of death.
