Highland Park Woman Locks Robber Outside
HIGHLAND PARK (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities in Highland Park are searching for an aggravated robbery suspect after an incident that took place at about 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday night in the 3500 block of Lindenwood Avenue.
According to officials, the male suspect entered into the fenced backyard area of a home and waited for the resident to walk out of her back door. He then held a handgun to the victim's neck and demanded her watch and phone, before ordering her to retrieve cash from her wallet inside. The victim went inside as instructed, but locked the door behind her before the suspect could follow her into the home.
The suspect -- then locked outside -- quickly fled from the scene. Authorities are not sure if he escaped on foot or had a vehicle waiting nearby.
Officials described the suspect as a white male, between the ages of 28 and 32, about 180 pounds with a medium build, blond hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a dark-colored zipper-style jacket and blue jeans at the time of the incident. Authorities did release a sketch of the suspect.
Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Highland Park Department of Public Safety at 214-559-9362.
