High-Speed Rail Service Planned For DFW

NORTH TEXAS (KRLD-AM) - The DFW High-Speed Rail Commission plans on connecting downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth by establishing a high-speed rail service.
According to commission chairman Bill Meadows, the rail service would be a means to reduce travel time between the two cities as well as creating new transportation for Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fans.
The only stop planned for the high-speed rail line is in the vicinity of AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Park in Arlington.
Meadows said the trains would go as fast as 200 miles an hour. In comparison, the current TRE trains run at about 60 miles an hour.
The commission hopes to have the rail line up by the early 2020s.
