High School Makes Changes After Bomb Threats
UNIVERSITY PARK (CBSDFW.COM) - Students at Highland Park High School will be welcomed with a few changes on Wednesday morning, after a series of bomb threats forced school officials to close the campus early on Tuesday morning. Kids were dismissed at about 11:00 a.m. and the building was evacuated while police and bomb-sniffing dogs combed over the area.
This was the fourth bomb threat at Highland Park High School since the beginning of the semester, all related to notes left in men's restrooms.
Police have determined that all of the threats were hoaxes, but officials do not want to take any chances.
The threats have been disturbing and disruptive, so school officials are now making changes. Starting on Wednesday morning, access to the school will be limited. Only two doors will be open for students to enter. Security will be tighter all over the campus.
And for any students who may have been making the threats to avoid class time, the plan backfired. Kids will have to make up all of the time being lost in the classroom due to the hoaxes.
