JOHNSON COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) — A young woman died when her car struck a tanker truck head-on Sunday afternoon.
Officials responded to the crash on Highway 67 near County Road 1120, south of Cleburne, around 12:53 p.m., according to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Dub Gillum. Reports say the driver of an SUV hit a loaded tanker truck when the eastbound SUV drove into the westbound lanes in a no passing zone, Gillum said. The tanker truck then lost control and hit a Ford F-150 pickup truck in the eastbound lanes before rolling and crashing on the side of the road.
The woman driving the SUV was killed instantly, Gillum said. She has been identified as 17-year-old Jean Marie Kramer from Burleson, Gillum said.
The tanker truck caught fire, but the driver is OK. The occupants of the pickup truck are also OK. Their names have not been released either, Gillum said.
At time of writing, westbound Highway 67 is closed and eastbound traffic is being diverted to a frontage road.
