Hannahs, Kingsley Lead Arkansas Over Texas Tech, 75-68 In OT

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Dusty Hannahs scored 25 points against his former school, and Moses Kingsley added 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead Arkansas to a 75-68 overtime victory over Texas Tech on Saturday in the Big 12- SEC Challenge.
Hannahs, who played his first two seasons with the Red Raiders, scored 21 of his points in the first half as the Razorbacks (11-10) rallied from 12 points down to win for the sixth straight time against their former Southwest Conference rival.
Kingsley scored on a putback with 13.6 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime, the fifth overtime game for Arkansas this season.
Zach Smith scored a career-high 19 points to lead Texas Tech (12-8), which lost for the seventh time in its last eight games.
Former Arkansas signee Aaron Ross added 14 points and nine rebounds for the Red Raiders, who were only 1 of 13 on 3-pointers. Keenan Evans added 11 points, while Devaugntah Williams finished with 10 for a Texas Tech team that continued to struggle after winning 10 straight games early in the season.
After trailing by as many as 12 points in the first half, Arkansas rallied to lead 45-34 early in the second — with Anthlon Bell's 3-pointer capping a 16-6 run following halftime.
The big lead was short-lived, however, as Texas Tech went on a 22-6 run to take a 56-51 lead after a pair of free throws by Smith.
Arkansas tied the game at 60-60 with 13.6 seconds remaining in regulation on a putback by Kingsley, and Williams missed a layup at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.
The Razorbacks improved to 2-3 in overtime games with the win, with Kingsley scoring all 17 of his points in the second half and extra period.
Leading into the matchup against his former school, where he played his first two seasons, Hannahs insisted his emotions would remain the same as any other game following tipoff.
The junior was anything but his usual reserved self in the first half, particularly after Arkansas hit only 2 of its first 12 shots and fell behind 16-4.
From there, it was an emotional Hannahs who led the Razorbacks back to a 29-28 halftime lead — scoring 21 of Arkansas' first 28 points overall and igniting the Bud Walton Arena crowd.
Hannahs hit 7 of his 10 shots in the half, 3 of 4 from deep, and displayed nothing short of a scowl on his way to the bench late in the half while giving out animated high fives to teammates.
The Razorbacks struggled in the second half against the Texas Tech zone defense, but it was Hannahs who hit the final free throws in overtime in the win against his former school.

Texas Tech: Ross, who is from North Little Rock and played in high school at Little Rock Parkview, originally signed with the Razorbacks before spending a year at prep school and signing with the Red Raiders. The junior played 30 minutes off the bench.
Arkansas: After hitting 7 of his first 10 shots in the first half, Hannahs was 0 for 7 from the field in the second. The junior still finished a point off his career high of 26 points, though, and was 8 of 8 on free throws.
