It seems almost a requirement every November that families will crowd the couch and watch the Thanksgiving Day football game. This year, 3:30 p.m. CST marks the start of the highly anticipated Thanksgiving Day game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Oakland Raiders at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Get out the chips, drinks and jerseys for this not-to-miss treat while you're in town.

On Thanksgiving Day, November 28 at 9 a.m., departing from City Hall Plaza, the Dallas YMCA Annual Turkey Trot runners and walkers will blast off from the start line on their 5K or eight-mile trek to victory in this traditional Dallas race. The race dates back to the 1940s and has been a regular Big D event since the 1960s. Family and friends are welcome to attend to enjoy games, pony rides, music and other family-friendly festivities. Work up an appetite for that evening feast.

Even Dallas locals will be impressed when they check out the revamped, full-fledged makeover of the deck at Reunion Tower. Reopened only recently to the public in October, tickets will be going fast, especially during the holiday weekend where the views of the city lit below are sure to be spectacular.
