Ground Breaking For Texas Rangers Museum

FREDERICKSBURG (AP) - Gov. Rick Perry heads to the Texas Hill Country to help break ground for a center that celebrates the long history of the state's oldest law enforcement agency.

Perry will help break ground Tuesday in Fredericksburg for the Texas Rangers Heritage Center. The center will be operated by the nonprofit Former Texas Ranger Foundation to preserve Ranger artifacts and history.

According to the foundation's website, the highlight of the center will be five interactive timeline exhibits that tell the story of the Texas Rangers beginning in 1823, when Stephen F. Austin swore in the first Rangers.
