Griner Not Solo Act For Undefeated Baylor Women
WACO (AP) - No. 1 Baylor is more than a solo act, even with Brittney Griner dominating so much.
Griner is having another All-America season. But the 6-foot-8 junior isn't the only reason the Lady Bears (30-0) can wrap up their first undefeated regular season Saturday against Iowa State.
Feisty sophomore point guard Odyssey Sims can score and also frustrates opposing ball-handlers. Lady Bears coach Kim Mulkey says bringing the ball up the floor against Sims is as hard as guarding Griner.
Sims is among several guards who provide tenacious perimeter defense. The Bears also have a pair of 6-1 post players who are tough inside. And all five starters are back next season.
