Griner Focused On Senior Season With Baylor
WACO (AP) - Brittney Griner is getting ready for her senior season at Baylor after a summer when she broke her wrist, got excited watching the Olympics and got an idea of where she might play next.
The Lady Bears are coming off the NCAA's first 40-win season. They return every starter from their undefeated national championship team.
Griner is healthy after the injury from a longboarding accident in May, when she jumped off and got hurt reaching out to steady herself against a wall.
She had already removed herself from consideration for the final spot on the U.S. women's basketball team that won gold at the London Olympics.
In the WNBA draft lottery held last month, the Phoenix Mercury won the No. 1 pick and the chance to select Griner next spring.
